I know that visa rules are constantly changing in Thailand and you can never be 100% sure if a border guard will let you in or not, even if you have a valid visa (ED for instance). What are the rules for border enter in December 2019 – January 2020?
According to Pattayaone.news, foreigners under the Visa Exemption List who are entering Thailand via border posts at Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Malaysia without securing a prior visa will now be granted a 30-day visa exemption stamp 2 times per calendar year, from January 1 to December 31.
This change only applies to visitors who have not obtained a visa beforehand, and are entering from the border by land. Those who arrive at the airport without a prior visa will continue to receive a 30-day stamp up to 6 times per calendar year and the restriction of 90 day limit per every 6 month is now abolished.
