Is there a required check-in with local immigration post ASQ?

Is there a required check-in with local immigration post ASQ for someone on a tourist or visa exempt status?

The manager at the condo I’ve booked said I have 24 hrs to check-in with local immigration or face a 1600 bht fine when going for an extension, etc.
He’s “kindly” offered to do this for me for 300 bht so, I’m just wondering if this is legit or not.

      > I’ve booked said I have 24 hrs to check-in with local

He’s talking about a TM30. HE, the landlord, should file the TM30, and not you.

Have him use one of the following applications:Online [best option]:
      https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/

      Apple:

      https://apps.apple.com/th/app/section38/id1451853492

      Android

      https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=th.go.immigration.section38

And have him watch this visa from the Thai government about the TM30:

The fact the landlord wants to charge you 300 THB for this should raise a very big red flag

It is his 2000 fine for not filing. You need it for the extension though. It is free to file the TM30.

…yeah, nice try – the landlord has to do the TM30 (address registration) anyways

But you might need this paper later for an extension, so maybe a smart move to pay that 300 in exchange for a copy of the TM30. Let him know you are aware he is in charge to do it anyway.

Yea, it’s the landlord’s legal responsibility to register you. It’s free for them, they probably do it online.

The post says the “condo manager” will do it, not the landlord, for 300 baht (which is what an agent would charge to do it). Maybe the “owner/landlord” of the condo unit is not in Thailand? If that’s the case I would pay the 300 baht for an easy extension.

Evidently, the online option is out. He said he charges the 300 because he has to send someone to do it. He’s a grumpy guy pre Covid so I’ll need to be delicate. I really like the condo and the location so it’s worth a little effort. I was anxious to get to the truth so I really appreciate everyone’s input 🙏

      What a scamming bullshit artist.
If you do pay get him to provide proof from immigration that it was filed with an IO stamp.
