Just cash and change it Thailand
Take some money with you and and go to a cash withdrawal centre outside the airport because the interest rate will be lower
Get a starling card before u travel. You pre load it and get a great rate when using it and only get a small charge from Thai bank machine when u withdraw. I heard if u go in bank then no charge
U can withdraw £300 a day from machine or a lot more inside bank
I use my phone and transfer to my starling card from my main bank and it’s instant. U get notifications every time u use it
Cash
All ATM’s seem to have a local withdrawal fee, and all have limits. If you have a Citibank plus account they have live rates and also don’t have a fee themselves. Never let the ATM convert the rate always select your bank if withdrawing cash
Bring cash, £300, £400 or more for a week.
There are money exchanges on every street corner. Just check that they don’t charge commission. Also don’t just accept the advertised rate – if you ask they’ll often give you a better rate. We saved heaps by doing this last week
AEON ATM is 150 baht for withdrawal. Superrich has the best exchange rates. They have a booth in the airport basement railway station.
