Wat Bang Phra Buddhist monastery 50 km west of Bangkok in Nakhon Pathom Province.

This Tattoo Temple is the most famous place in Thailand to receive a genuine sak yant tattoo from a master-artist monk.

The price for Sak Yant tattoo depends on the picture you want to get, but in most cases you will have to give an offering to Buddha and to support the Temple. The offering purchased in the temple consists of incense sticks, orchid flowers and menthol cigarettes. Apart with the offering you have to make an additional donation for your Sak Yant to the monk, about 2000THB.

Sak Yant Tattoo from Wat Bang Phra Buddhist monastery

Sak Yant Tattoo. Wat Bang Phra Buddhist monastery (Tattoo Temple).

Where can I get an authentic Sak Yant tattoo?

There are two places really, Wat Bang Phra in Bangkok and Sak Yant Chiang Mai in Chiang Mai Thailand. Famous Ajarns like Ajarn Noo charge about $5000 for something that Sak Yant Chiang Mai does for about $60.

So if your a rich celebrity go for it, otherwise many people fly from Bangkok and Phuket to Chiang Mai, get a real Sak Yant (they have a co-op of over 10 Monks and Ajarns) and a few days holiday for the same price as more famous tourist places will charge.
