Everytime we arrive in Thailand it goes like this:
1. Immigration
2. Baggage
3. Exchange Currency
4. Buy SIM card for phone
5. Get taxi
We usually exchange around 500 at the airport, then more as we need it in the area we are staying. Koh Tao has plenty of exchange booths but the rate might not be as good since you’re on a small island. As long as you get at least 30 Bhatt per USD your doing ok. 31 is better if you see it.
Unless you want to spend your vacation time looking to save a point or two, just exchange it anywhere. The difference between places is so small!
Koh Tao not a great exchange rate, so get before you go there, sairee beach opposite taxi boat is probably the best one
