No please don’t. They will rip you off
Sure have, heaps of fun, in Patong Bradley Holzinger
Yes some of them are truthful ppl, some aren’t. Have your date defined before you get in, give them a tip before hand, you’ll be fine
They used to be the standard transportation, now they are a novelty. Taxis everywhere nowadays.
No
Yes , amazing experience
Yes in Bangkok
I did. So much fun.
Yes….but you must negotiate the fare before you go anywhere else be prepared to get scammed.
I have in Phuket and Bangkok. Good in bangkok they can nip around traffic. In phuket expect to pay around 1500 baht for a day
Yes and we love them
yes
I have but you cop too much pollution from traffic..better to catch taxi with air-con.
You probably ‘could’ but if people suspect you’re actually taking fares, prepare to meet the full wrath of people you don’t really want to upset
They are not as easy to drive as you think. The gear shift sits between your legs, they require a lot of arm power to turn at low speeds. I do not suspect may Tuk Tuk drivers would let you rent their only source of income without a large deposit incase of accident. I drove one late at night in BKK when the streets were empty. The driver sat in the back and explained how to drive it. No even sure what drivers license you would need to not get a ticket. You will have easier time renting 3 wheel bike in any of the less populated areas.
It is illegal for a foreigner to operate a tuk tuk as they are considered taxis and no matter what police will believe you are taking fares and working.
