Hi everyone,
Im from Italy and Im a planning a mid term staying in thailand (6 months). I actually work for an italian company in the IT market and I want to keep working while in Thailand.
There is *a lot* of confusion about this kind of work. Which VISA should apply for? I should try to get a work permit or simply get a tourist VISA?
My goal is to be able to move permanently in the future, so I would like to understand if there is a way to make my position legal and to be elegible in the future for longer VISAs (Im thirty-eight, so Im out of a retirement visa and I dont earn enough to apply for a SMART visa)
Many thank you to anyone will help me to sort out this mess…

A Multiple Entry Tourist Visa will be your best option.
You can’tget a work permit, or work legally, unless you’re employed by a Thaibusiness.
Enter as a tourist and keep your work to yourself. Working, even online, is illegal without permission, which you won’t get.
If the authorities discovered your online work it’s highly unlikely they’re stop you orprosecute.
