Elephant Nature Park is the only completely ethical one in CM. They are under saveelephant.org, and run by Lek, who is in parliament fighting for nature in Thailand. Many sanctuaries say the are ethical, but aren’t when tourists aren’t looking.
If there is bathing, elephants expected to be on a schedule for tourists, caging, chaining, ties around the necks … they are not ethical.
Just go to ENP to be sure.

It’s not in Chiang Mai, but close to Hua Hin/Cha Am.
