Maybe through a dealer but definitely not privately. I recently sold a car for nearly THB300k, the cost to transfer the name was less than THB2000. There is 7% tax on finance though – it is considered a service here so is taxed. However, the tax on finance doesn’t apply to new cars as you’re already paying tax on the vehicle as it is new. I bought new – 0% finance over 4 years. 2nd hand finance will cost about 4% a year, but the 4% per year is calculated on the full amount, so over 4 years – 4*4% + the 7% VAT on finance means the cost of finance is 23%.
