Early days but has anyone yet to complete an extension of stay based on retirement based on only having a part years record of monthly income in accordance with the police order by BJ in January 2019 recommending leniency by IOs for this year only?

Given the “non-leniency” of the leniency policy, it would appear that the most senseal option is to go to an agency. THis was the plan all along. We are dealing with officers of the law who are ready and willing to be bribed. Nothing has really changed. They talk out of both sides of their mouths about visa services trying to skirt the law, while working as hard as they can to drive expats to visa services. As usual, the rule is “show me the money”. Why would anyone take a chance on “leniency” which is like trying to nail jelly to a tree? A different answer from every official you ask is essentially no policy at all and leaves the door open for scams and bribery on an unprecedented scale. We should consider ourselves fortunate that the law can be bought and sold here like any other merchandise.
