Can anyone explain why hotels are advertising 11 Nights 12 Days for the 10 Day Quarantine stays?

10 full days 12 day is 1 day check-in and 1 day check-out
If you arrive before 6.00 p.m. they’ll count as day 1 but if you are arriving after 6.00 p.m. you will not count on that day.The staff told me this information after I checked in.
Any tips or advice on persuading them to reduce the quarantine time to 10 nights? I just booked this morning for travel in May.
