I have a tattoo of Barong (king of spirit gods) do I believe in spirits? No. Though the story about Barong and Rangda is quite cool. You see Barong everywhere in Bali. For me, having spent a lot of time in Bali, my Barong tattoo is a reminder of good times had whilst abroad. A connection to Bali if you will. People’s reasoning for choice in tattoos is theirs only. It doesn’t need to be explained. It doesn’t always represent faith or belief in religion. It doesn’t even have to mean anything to them.
